February Newsletter

Everyone at the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas is excited for the 2021 year! With it brings a new logo, many goals, lots of opportunities and new faces.

As we begin our Lenten journey of prayer, fasting and almsgiving; the Catholic Foundation is here to help you give most generously, in ways that will impact our community for years to come.

Lent is the perfect opportunity to begin the habit of practicing almsgiving. The Catholic Foundation can help you give alms and establish a habit of giving.

"Prayer with fasting is good. Almsgiving with righteousness is better than wealth with wickedness. It is better to give alms than to store up gold, for almsgiving saves from death, and purges all sin. Those who give alms will enjoy a full life."     Tobit 12:8-9

The Lenten Season invites us to deepen our faith practice in preparation for the Easter Feast. Our shared focus as a Catholic community on praying, fasting and giving opens us up to a greater trust in God and to the Holy Spirit's life-giving transformation.  When we give alms, we are called to give out of "our want." Though it may feel like a sacrifice, the Book of Tobit reminds us that giving allows us to enjoy a full life.

Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann will be leading a Lenten Scripture series of the Gospels for Ash Wednesday and the five Sundays of Lent to strenthen our spiritual resolutions during Lent.

With nearly 250 funds supporting local parishes, ministries and Cathloic schools, we will support your almsgiving in this Lenten season and beyond.

Please consider giving to one of our existing funds during Lent.  A gift of any size will help to grow the fund and increase its granting capacity now and for years to come.

The Catholic Foundation has taken the opportunity to define our brand position and align our ministry strategy with our brand strategy and communications efforts, including our new visual identity.

The Logo

The new CFNEK logo is based on the idea that we are stewards of a harvest.  We believe we have been entrusted to work the fields of our Lord, and when a harvest is rewarded, it is our responsibility to return it to the Lord.  The logomark represents the hands of the good steward, a head of wheat representing the harvest, all leading to a cross, of course symbolizing Jesus Christ.

The Tagline

Your Giving Legacy. Invested in Faith. Sophisticated in wording and focused on the benefit of the donor - the phrase has a double meaning as it speaks to both the actual investment, but also emphasizes giving ethics.

A Lent in imitation of St. Joseph--This Lent provides the unique opportunity to do so, as Pope Francis proclaimed 2021 to be the Year of St. Joseph, the protector of Jesus.  In this year, the Church has called us to imitate St. Joseph's virtues…
