Charitable Giving Strategies
A Catholic Charitable Remainder Trust is a type of charitable trust that allows individuals to make a donation to a Catholic organization while receiving income from the trust during their lifetime. The donor receives a charitable deduction on their taxes when the trust is created, and the trust's assets are eventually transferred to the designated Catholic charity upon the donor’s death. This type of trust provides a balance between supporting a faith-based cause and ensuring financial security for the donor or their beneficiaries. Contact our office if you would like to learn more.
Sacred Heart Legacy Society
Recognition Party
In December, Sacred Heart in Emporia hosted their annual Legacy Society recognition party at the home of Jim and Kathy Kessler, where the parish honored Russ and Jeannie Jenkins with the "Distinguished Sacred Heart Legacy Society Award". Russ and Jeannie were instrumental in establishing the Legacy Society at Sacred Heart, as well as being loyal Sacred Heart parishioners. Russ also formerly served as President of the Board for the Catholic Foundation.
Catholic Charities Snowball 2025
The Catholic Foundation sponsored a table at the 51st Annual Snow Ball for Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas. This year, Catholic Charities raised over $5.3M to help fight poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity in our communities. We are proud to be a fund holder for this incredible organization.
We are excited to host the Annual Deo Gratias Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Church of the Ascension.
